Deborah Reed – “Life is Good Now.”
Deborah Reed, a 54-year-old accountant, wasn’t sure how or
when she injured her back, only that by December of 2003 the
pain had become crippling. “Pain would shoot down my right
leg. It was so intense from my calf to my ankle that I had to
use a walker to get around. I couldn’t hold my grandbabies,
dance with my husband, or even walk the dog. At work, I would
‘carry’ the files I needed on a rolling chair, using the back of
the seat to support myself,” Debbie explains.

Debbie’s first visit with Dr. Nucci was in February of 2004. MRI’s revealed that a disk herniation on her lumbar spine was the source of her pain. Surgery could alleviate the problem.
“Dr. Nucci tried several different therapies including steroid injections and nerve blocks before we decided on surgery,” Debbie states. “Nothing helped.”
Debbie had surgery to remove the herniated material on July 22, 2004. By removing the herniation that was pressing against her nerve, Dr. Nucci was able to relieve Debbie’s pain. Hardware was placed on the injured level to ensure continued stability.
“Surgery was the best thing that could have happened to me,” Debbie beams. “I was back at work after 5 weeks of recuperation and today I am PAIN FREE!”
“Dr. Nucci gave my husband and I our life back. I truly believe that his expertise combined with my following his directions and keeping a positive attitude got me this far. I can dance again with my husband and play with my grandchildren. Life is good, now.”
